Education and Science

A strong education is the pathway to success; everyone should have the access to the educational tools they need to accomplish their goals. Therefore, one of my priorities in Congress is ensuring our youth receive a quality education regardless of gender, race, religion, income level, age, or learning ability. One’s circumstance should not limit their ability to receive a high-quality educational experience. Additionally, as a member of the House Science, Space and Technology committee, I believe our nation’s STEM students play a key role in keeping our nation economically competitive in a modern and dynamic world economy.

Under the status quo, California sends far more money to Washington than it receives in return for education purposes. States and local school boards are the best equipped to ensure our children receive the education they need to meet local economy demands and unique community circumstances. When we empower parents and students with greater options for education, they are in a better position to succeed and thrive.

As a member of the House Science, Space, & Technology Committee, I oversee the federal government's operations in scientific research, technology development, and our global leadership in these fields. American scientific supremacy is good for our economy, our national pride, and benefits mankind all across the world.
