LAPD Motors Police Week Visit

Thank you to the Los Angeles Police Department Motors for stopping by the office Monday while we celebrated Police Week. Each of these officers and their colleagues put their lives on the line every day for the protection of our communities. As a former LAPD officer of 18 years, I know the challenges our officers face and prepare for. Last week, we acknowledged all law enforcement officers, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Thanks for stopping by LAPD Motors

CA Realtors Association
It was great speaking to members and representatives of the California Realtors Association and local realtors from Simi, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys on May 17 who flew in to visit Washington, DC. We talked about tax reform and how we can help increase homeownership in California and across the nation.

LA County Sheriff Jim McDonnell visit
On May 18, Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell stopped by my office. We discussed new and ongoing efforts being done by the LA County Sheriff Department to keep our communities safe. As we continued through Police Week, I thanked Sheriff McDonnell for his dedication to the protection of our families across LA County.

Great meeting with LA County Sheriff Jim McDonnell

Long Range Strike Caucus Event
I am proud of the role the Antelope Valley plays in our nation's long range strike capability. Thursday evening I attended an event with the Members of the Long Range Strike Caucus and two B-2 pilots who executed a recent strike on ISIS. The B-2 was originally built in Palmdale and still receives maintenance there. We must continue to modernize our strategic bomber force and maintain this critical ability well into the future.

It was a pleasure meeting two of our B-2 Pilots

H. Res 30 Co-Sponsor
I am proud to announce my support as a co-sponsor of H. Res. 30, Condemning the Dog Meat Festival in Yulin, China, and urging China to end the dog meat trade. This resolution urges the National People's Congress of China to enact an animal anti-cruelty law that bans the dog meat trade as well as the killing and eating of dogs as part of Yulin's festival. It also will enforce China's food safety laws regulating the processing and sale of animal products. To read more about this resolution, click here.
