Exploring Careers in Service
Last Tuesday my office participated in the Vasquez High School Public Service Career Fair. Students had an opportunity to hear from agencies like LAPD, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, CHP, LA County Fire Department, the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. Students learned about the criteria to apply for the different agencies and offices as well as opportunities for internships. If you are interested in an internship with one of our offices please visit my website to learn about the program and apply.

Honoring Postmaster Neil Havens
On Thursday my team attended the Rededication Ceremony of the Galena Avenue Post Office honoring former Simi Valley Postmaster Neil Havens. The rededication included the hanging of a picture with a brief biography of Neil Havens above the plaque honoring him, both of which will serve reminders of his legacy of service and hard work to the people of Simi Valley.

Small Business Tour

Today I visited with Jack Cole of Lance Camper in Lancaster to discuss the challenges facing small business in California. Since 1965 Lance has been building America's most popular truck campers. As the Chairman of the on Small Business Subcommittee on Contracting and the Workforce I am committed to increasing opportunities for our small businesses so they can grow and thrive, and I appreciate the insights Jack and his team provided.
